Edavanna is a region where the traditional timber industry has continued to thrive.
Before the commencement of the 9th Five-Year Plan, the Panchayat received only very limited funds, which made it difficult to undertake significant activities aimed at improving the quality of life of the people.
However, as part of the decentralisation of powers, the Panchayat has been able to bring about a major transformation in development.
